ActionAid Nigeria Trains Several Journalists on Agroecology and Climate Justice

With the aim of preserving the environment and promoting sustainable and intensive agricultural practices, the ActionAid Nigeria organization is committed to training West African journalists in the promotion of Agroecology and climate justice.

During a webinar held on Tuesday February 20, journalists from several countries in the West African region were quite informed about Agroecology and climate justice. ActionAid Nigeria, a member of the global ActionAid federation, in partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), ensured on this occasion to raise awareness among populations on the importance of agroecology for combat the harmful effects of climate change, particularly for rural communities dependent on agriculture.

According to the organization ActionAid Nigeria, to promote greener agricultural production and promote climate justice, several actions must be taken. These actions amount to encouraging the adoption of agroecological practices, i.e. promoting environmentally friendly agricultural methods, such as agroforestry, permaculture and crop rotation and above all raising consumer awareness of the importance of supporting sustainable agriculture, encourage the consumption of local and organic products, and promote a balanced diet.

By combining these measures, it is possible to promote greener agricultural production while contributing to climate justice by meeting food needs while preserving natural resources for future generations.
